College Bound
Bobcat Club
Who can participate?
EIGHTH GRADE Middle School students are often nominated by their middle school staff to participate. The club is looking for 8th grade students who have shown the potential for making it in college and do not have much experience in understanding the process of going to college. A permission form will be required in order to participate with a parent/guardian's signature. You can get a permission/registration form at school or email Prof. Paxton at paxton@ohio.edu. A signed permission is required to participate so please don't forget to bring it on the first day.
2017 Details
The College Bound Bobcat Club will be offered on Friday afternoons from Sept. 22 - Nov. 17 from 3-5pm. Ohio University students will meet the middle schoolers at the lower entrance of Baker Center at 3pm. Parents can pick up students at the same location at 4:45pm. Parents and/or schools are responsible for transportation to and from the College Bound Bobcat Club. Given that the OU students are volunteers, punctual pick-up is an essential component of participating in the club. For directions to Baker Center, see: https://www.ohio.edu/eventservices/baker/directions.cfm
Cost
There is no cost to participate. All OU students and professors volunteer their time. In addition, the program will include snacks and a t-shirt for students completing the club.
