Bobcat Club
OUR PROGRAM
The College Bound Bobcat Club is an afterschool program founded by Dr. Julia Paxton and the members of her Economics class. For nine weeks, a selected group of 8th grade students are given the opportunity to explore the facets of college life and study.
Every week, they are taken to a different department on campus where they are given a presentation and participate in a planned activity that provides a lasting learning experience for the participants. The middle school students are accompanied by Ohio University student volunteers who help to provide a greater insight into the college experience. The program is offered once a week after school and runs until 4:30pm when parents pick up the children in front of Athens Middle School.
